Real estate is one of the most important decisions a family makes — the information that helps you decide should be within reach of anyone who wants it.

Our standard

This Site is designed with the goal of conforming to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the W3C. WCAG 2.1 is the accepted international standard for accessible web content and is the standard referenced by the Accessible British Columbia Act and the Accessible Canada Act.

What we've built in

Semantic HTML — headings, lists, sections, and links are marked up so screen readers can navigate the page by structure, not by guessing.
Keyboard navigation — every interactive element (links, phone and email calls-to-action, forms) can be reached and activated using the Tab key and Enter, without needing a mouse.
Readable colour contrast — body text, headings, and calls-to-action are chosen to meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required by WCAG AA for normal text.
Scalable type — the Site uses responsive font sizing. Zoom to 200% in your browser and the layout still works; no content is cut off.
Alt text on images — informative images include descriptive alternative text so screen-reader users aren't missing context. Decorative images are marked as such so they're skipped.
Clear link labels — links describe their destination ("View the Coquitlam Move-Up Protocol") rather than generic "click here" text.
Mobile-first layout — every page is built to work on a phone screen first, so navigation, CTAs, and body text remain usable at small widths.
No auto-playing audio or video — nothing on the Site starts making sound or animating on its own.

Known limitations

This Site is maintained by one REALTOR®, not a large web team. Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time task. If you encounter something that doesn't work for you — a page that doesn't read cleanly in your screen reader, a colour combination that's hard to see, a keyboard trap, or anything else — please tell me. Every report is reviewed and fixes are rolled into the next update.
